EXCLUSIVE: CatchLight Studios today announced the launch of Nuts & Bolts, a new division dedicated to production services, overseen by Executive Vice President of Production Yolanda T. Cochran.Nuts & Bolts’ mission is to serve global production, from basic production services and compliance requirements, to full third-party production services and EP/producer oversight.
In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cochran held the role of Senior Vice President of Live Production for Kids & Family at ViacomCBS, overseeing scripted and unscripted series and specials for Nickelodeon and AwesomenessTV.Notable projects include Paramount+’s iCarly reboot, Nickelodeon’s Nick News revival, and the launch of new series That Girl Lay Lay and NFL Slimetime.
The veteran executive previously served as vice president of production for Walt Disney Television’s Freeform studio and network, overseeing series such as Good Trouble, The Bold Type, Siren and Motherland: Fort Salem.Before that, she was executive vice president of physical production at Alcon Entertainment, a Warner Bros. company.
Cochran’s productions include The Book of Eli, Dolphin Tales 1 & 2, Something Borrowed, Happy Noise, Lottery, Travel Pants Sisterhood 2, Beautiful Creatures , Point Break and Blind Spot.In 2016, the USC alumni produced a documentary short and podcast miniseries called Breaking the Glass, which focused on and sought solutions to specific gender and racial challenges in the entertainment industry.Currently, she is the co-producer and co-host of the podcast series Dungeons ‘N’ Durags, a comical journey through a nerdy black man’s racial identity crisis and upside-down beliefs about Americans.
In 2005, Cochran co-wrote and produced an independent thriller called Paving the Way with Good Intentions.Other credits in the production area include Life, Blue Streak, Nutty Professor II, Coyote Ugly, and Dragonfly.The former CPA serves on the boards of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (serving on the Board of Directors Governance Committee), the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and the Producers Guild of America.
